Smoke report Fall 2023 Grow

This is my best grow yet, even with some setbacks. The quality of the smoke is getting to the level I have been striving for. I credit the success with two thing. Genetics are primary. If your plants don't have the ability to be great from the start then why bother. My second thing is consistency. I have been trying hard to maintain a stable environment and feeding schedule. With a little luck my next run will do as well.

Here are my thoughts on these strains.

Lemon Jeffery (Irie Genetics)

Appearance: Bright green with tight orange pistils. Buds dried up dense and tight.

Aroma / taste: Strong aroma – fruity citrus. Honestly, I don't get a huge lemon to my senses. The strong aroma doesn't carry over to the taste in the smoke. This burns smooth and easy on
the throat and lungs.

Effects: This bud has more of a “buzz” than a high. It takes a few minutes for the effect to hit you but is definitely comes on strong. The high has a lasting quality that is a positive attribute of LJ. This is the smoke you use when you need to dust and vacuum before friend come over but lack motivation. This is probably not a good choice for folks that don't like racy pot or get anxious with some strains.

Orange Gasm (Irie Genetics)

Appearance: Light green bud with fine pistils and lots of trichomes.

Aroma / taste: Orange, fruity, hint of solvent/cleaner.

Effects: This has an uplifting high. Not racy but it doesn't slow you down. Good all-day kind of smoke.

Orange Runtz Cake (Conscious Genetics)

Appearance: Dense, swollen calyx buds. Color is faint green and light amber with orange pistils that are still wildly spread out..

Aroma / taste: Sweet, candy, vanilla smell. The sweetness continues through the smoke. You can re-light a joint after a while and it still tastes great. There aren't many strains that have the flavor in the smoke like this.

Effects: Fast hitting and mellow high. Nothing racy but also no couch lock. Goldilocks would like this weed. Perfect for a daytime, just-cruising smoke.

Mandarin Cookie Haze R1 (Ethos Genetics / Freebie)

Appearance: Buds are slightly shaggy. I think this one could have benefited from going a little longer. Dark green color with fine pistils.

Aroma / taste: Smells like orange/tangerine/mandarin – over ripe and sour/funky. When smoked it tastes just like it smells, sour funky fruit.

Effects: This strain gives you an energetic high. Nothing to slow you down.

Midnight Moonlight (Lovin' in Her Eyes)

Appearance: Dark green and purple with fine, tight orange pistils. Coated in trichomes. Very dense bud structure.

Aroma / taste: Mild sweet berry, caramel, vanilla and a touch of \funk. It is an appealing aroma. Taste is rich and full. Smokes smooth and you want to keep taking another pull.

Effects: Comes on quickly and stays steady. Has a calming type high. Good choice for after dinner but too much and you may not make it through the movie.
