A bit if fun....
Wassup GR420
We all got smart phones, there are apps that measure lux for our phones. I know they wont be spot on but it's a bit of fun rather than a science experiment.
If everyone could download one if these apps and test what their light is putting out I think the results could be interesting. Please include you make of light, type of shade if using one. I think 18 inches is a good height for us to use. Please list your results below.

Re: A bit if fun....
Yeah I will do tonight. I've already done it few days ago when I mentioned to you and remember the numbers being waay higher under the CDM than they were under the LED Prakasa. I was comparing 300w Prakasa vs 315 w CDM

Re: A bit if fun....
Here's mine.
The first is from a parabolic shade so the bulb is vertical. 600w sunmaster dual spec bulb.

The 2nd is from a standard euro barn style reflector so horizontal bulb. 600w sunmaster dual spec bulb

I also checked my other euro barn reflector which has a lumii black dual spec 600w bulb, almost identical to the sunmaster.
The difference is obviously huge between the horizontal and vertical set ups. I'll have a play later to see what readings I get moving further away from the centre. See if the parabolic shade while lover in the center will be better across the full area.
